Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

This policy explains what data we collect on froggicards.com and in the Froggi beta app (distributed via Apple TestFlight), why, and what your rights are. In short: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell anything, and we don't use tracking cookies.

Who we are

Froggi is an independent project based in Germany. Controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): the Froggi team, contact beta@froggicards.com.

What we collect on the website

Beta sign-up survey. If you fill in the survey, we store:

We use this to decide which languages and levels to build decks for, and — if you left your email — to send you beta updates. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us.

Server logs. Our web server does not keep access logs. Your IP address is processed only briefly in memory to deliver the page and to block spam submissions; it is not stored.

Cookies and analytics. None. The site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers.

What we collect in the beta app

The beta is distributed through Apple TestFlight. When you install it, Apple shares with us your TestFlight name/email (if you were invited by email), basic device information, crash reports and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and the TestFlight terms. We use this information only to fix bugs and improve Froggi.

Your flashcard decks and study progress are used only to make the app work for you. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who processes data for us

Some of these providers may process data outside the EU; where they do, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

Survey answers and emails are kept until the end of the beta programme and deleted no later than 24 months after you submit them — earlier if you ask us.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Just email beta@froggicards.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority, for example the one in your EU country of residence.

Children

Froggi is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above.
